| | More details | | God loves you. Personally. Powerfully. Passionately. Others have promised and failed. But God has promised and succeeded. He loves you with an unfailing love. And His love--if you will let it--can fill you and leave you with a love worth giving. Best-selling author Max Lucado has successfully pricked the hearts and minds of readers for decades. Now, he boldly says that before we can pass love on, we must receive it ourselves--from God. Pointing out that we must love one another, Lucado issues an impassioned plea to accept God's love in order to truly, unselfishly, wholeheartedly love another. God wants us to drink deeply of His love, soak it up, and marvel at its depth. |

|
| | More details | Yes, angels are real. They are not the product of your imagination. "If we had open spiritual eyes we would see not only a world filled with evil spirits and powers-but also powerful angels with drawn swords, set for our defense." -Billy Graham Dr. Graham lifts the veil between the visible and the invisible world to give us an eye-opening account of these behind-the-scenes agents. This best-selling classic records the experiences of Dr. Graham and others who are convinced that at moments of special need they have been attended by angels. With keen insight and conviction, Dr. Graham affirms that: - God's invisible hosts are better organized than any of the armies of man-or Satan.
- Angels "think, feel, will, and display emotions."
- Angels guide, comfort, and provide for people in the midst of suffering and persecution.
- At death, the faithful will be ushered by angels into the presence of God.

Becoming a Contagious Christian
by: Bill Hybels
Publisher: Zondervan Published: 1995-01-02 ASIN: 0310485002

|
| | More details | | What is it about verbalizing our faith that leaves our knees knocking and our tongues tied? We know it's the most significant thing we can do and that sharing it is the most important gift we could ever give to a friend. Yet evangelism remains one of the most frustrating parts of the Christian life. Until now. Bill Hybels and Mark Mittelberg believe that it doesn't have to be that way; effectively communicating our faith in Jesus Christ should be the most natural thing in the world. What we need, however, is encouragement and direction. In Becoming a Contagious Christian Hybels and Mittelberg offer a practical plan of action for touching the lives of friends, family members, and others, illustrated with powerful, real-life stories. Their emphasis is clear: be yourself in Christ, find a style that works for you. Hybels and Mittelberg use simple, straightforward language and diverse biblical characters such as Paul, Dorcas, and the Samaritan woman to encourage us with the good news that God knew what he was doing when he made each of us. As a result, all of us can impact our world for Christ. It is an approach the authors have seen work again and again at Willow Creek Community Church. They articulate the important principles that have helped the believers at Willow Creek become a church of "contagious Christians," a church known around the world for its outstanding and effective outreach to the unchurched. Becoming a Contagious Christian may well be one of the most important contributions to relational evangelism in decades. It presents a blueprint for starting a spiritual epidemic of hope and enthusiasm for spreading the Gospel of Christ. |

|
| | More details | | This is probably the most widely read collection of daily readings from the Bible ever published, and it is presented in this edition in the words of The New International Version (North American Edition). For three generations, Daily Light on the Daily Path has been a classic religious work, and it has gone through a countless number of printings. It was compiled by the descendants of the London bookseller, Samuel Bagster. Bagster's grandson, Robert, who died in 1924, wrote of the origins of this book, 'Daily Light on the Daily Path was prepared entirely within the family. Few are able to appreciate the heart-searching care with which every text was selected, the days, nay the weeks of changes, alterations and improvements, until at last each page was passed to the printer.' Here are two selections of Bible readings for every day in the year -- for Morning and Evening. |

Divine Healing (Andrew Murray Christian Classics)
by: Andrew Murray
Publisher: Diggory Press Published: 2007-07-06 ASIN: 184685878X

|
| | More details | | "In Jesus, we have both pardon and healing; they are two sides of His redemptive work." The health of our bodies is a part of the salvation Jesus earned for us on Calvary. He took upon Himself both our souls and our bodies, delivering both in equal measure from the consequences of sin. In the ministering of the apostles, forgiveness and healing complemented each other, allowing the Spirit of God to flow freely. Why isn't the modern Church experiencing this surge of God's healing power? What does He promise us regarding divine healing? In “Divine Healing,” Andrew Murray answers these questions scripturally, showing how to walk victoriously in divine health. |

Fuel for the Soul: 21 Devotionals That Nourish
by: CJ Hitz
Publisher: www.ChristianSpeakers.tv Published: 2011-09-14 ASIN: B005NB295K

|
| | More details | It's been said that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I don't know about you but it sure seems difficult to break the bad habits and keep the good ones going. You may have several good habits you've formed in your life that have become second nature to you.
For me, running has become one such habit. What started out as a legitimate way to lose some extra pounds and help speed up my metabolism eventually turned into my favorite sport and primary outlet for competition. The daily run is something I look forward to as it leaves me feeling energized and full of life. If you're not a runner, you might not be familiar with something called an energy gel. These are little 100 calorie packets of mainly carbohydrates. Brand names include GU, Clif Shot, Hammer, and Stinger to name a few. They are a simple, easy-to-digest form of fuel. I've had several instances where I felt low on energy while out on a training run or in a race but then felt an energy surge after consuming one of these little guys. It's amazing what a difference just 100 calories can make.
It's my hope that these 21 days of devotions will serve as an "energy gel" or fuel for your soul. They're meant to be quick yet powerful and thought-provoking no matter what time of day you prefer to read (eat) them.
It's also my hope that you'll form another great habit for your life...a daily, uninterrupted time of drawing close to Jesus. May you come to wholeheartedly agree with David when he said in Psalm 34:8...
"Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!"

God Came Near (The Bestseller Collection)
by: Max Lucado
Publisher: Thomas Nelson Published: 2008-09-30 ASIN: B002BDTZUA
Read reviews >> |
|
| | More details | Majesty in the midst of the Mundane. He looks like anything but a king. His face is prunish red. His cry, though strong and healthy, is still the helpless and piercing cry of a baby. He is absolutely dependent upon Mary for his well-being.
Holiness in the filth of sheep manure and sweat. Divinity entering the world on the floor of a stable, through the womb of a teenager, and in the presence of a mere carpenter. God had come near! Travel back in time and relive Christ the Son of God becoming man.
In this stunning work, Max Lucado views the Savior who walked among us through a distinctly human lens. He speaks plainly to those of us who prefer to keep Jesus otherworldly, distant, and predictable: "Don't do it. For heaven's sake, don't. Let Him into the mire and muck of our world. For only if we let him in can he pull us out." Through vivid word pictures, come with Max as he brings to life the most important event in history…when God Came Near. |
